The Mystery of the Box
It was one of those projects that felt bigger than a school assignment from the very beginning. I had one shot — one real chance — to make a full short film with an actual crew behind me. Not a quick edit, not a simple clip. A proper cinematic story, from start to finish.
I built the crew from what I had — classmates. And let me be clear: these weren't just random people filling roles. They were professionals in their own right, skilled, dedicated, and serious about the work. Together we moved like a real production crew. Everyone knew their job. Everyone showed up.
And it showed. The film looked incredible. The shots were clean, the lighting was deliberate, the editing had weight to it. You could watch a frame from that film and not know it came out of a school project. That part I was proud of — and still am.
But there's a difference between being a professional behind the scenes and stepping in front of a camera for the first time. Acting is its own discipline entirely. My classmates gave everything they had — and I mean that — but performing on camera is a craft that takes years to develop. The performances were a bit off at times, and I felt it in the edit. Every moment that didn't quite land the way the scene needed it to.
It taught me something I carry with me to this day — the image can be perfect and still be let down by what lives inside it. A great film needs both sides to fire at once. The craft behind the camera, and the truth in front of it.
The Mystery of the Box wasn't flawless. But it was mine. And it showed me exactly what I was capable of — and what I would spend the rest of my career chasing.

wannebe - Shortfilm
"Wannebe" is a short film following a young rapper navigating the struggles that come with chasing a dream that feels just out of reach. Caught between ambition and reality, he faces personal setbacks, inner conflict, and the pressure of the world around him — a raw and honest look at what it costs to want something badly enough.
Wannebe is the debut short film from DutchMotionPicture. As a first production, it's a stepping stone — shot with passion over polish, focused on storytelling and character over technical perfection. It marks the beginning of a creative journey, not the peak of it.
